You had a pretty good day at the plate today. What was going well for you?I was seeing the ball pretty good – I got some runners on early and did my job to get some Pirates in. But we all hit the ball hard today. You guys won pretty big game today – good hitting good pitching. Are you guys out of your funk?Yeah we were in a funk in the last couple games but we’re back. Everybody’s putting the ball into play, a lot of clutch hits. We’ve been hitting well with two outs and hopefully it’ll carry on and keep on going.Head coach John Altobelli is definitely gone for the playoffs now. Are you guys doing anything differently?Well we lost him but we also lost J-Wat (Jourdan Watanabe) at the beginning of the season so we always have them in our hearts. We’re playing for Alto and J-Wat and everybody out there supporting Orange Coast.Anything else you want to add about today?Great day for Orange Coast and happy birthday Alto.[Photo by Tony Lee]

Talk about that home run. What pitch did Christian Meza throw? It was a slider down low and I got lucky; (Meza) struck me out two at bats before that so I was trying to hit the ball in play, make something happen, trying to do something good for the team. I found the sweet spot of the bat and it just took off. [Click here to read about his home run]
Talk about Meza’s performance today. He’s a good pitcher. It was kind of hard to see today with the overcast weather, it was kind of hard to pick it up, but I don’t want to take anything away from his performance. He was pretty filthy today and kept us off balance.
Talk about the 12-game winning streak. It’s a good run. It was amazing to go 12 in-a-row. It’s going to come to an end eventually so we just got to get back on the horse and maybe start another one.You guys have been scoring a lot of runs per game and only scored two today. Is this a red flag or are you guys OK?No, (Meza) pitched a great game. It’s hard to score that many runs in a game. We have a lot of guys that can hit pretty well but we weren’t connecting on all cylinders today.
Coach John Altobelli said at the beginning of the year that the team’s defense was an issue but you guys have kept your errors low.Yeah I think the players are playing up to their potential now. At the start, you didn’t know if you were going to start and whatnot...people are playing kind of lose right now and just playing up to their abilities and its helping out on the errors.[Photo by Tony Lee]

Before the game, Tony Altobelli picked you as the player to look out for today and you came through with the game-tying and winning run. Any comments on that?
It's exciting to hear that somebody's looking forward to seeing me succeed.
What was different about today?
It's just like any other day. I did feel a lot more relaxed at the plate, trying to be more patient.
Talk about the suicide squeeze in the eight inning.
One of the coaches threw me a verbal, the third baseman was playing back, so I took advantage of the opportunity.
You guys are on a nine-game winning streak. Comments?
We're hot right now. Long as we keep it up, it'd be good. Our bats are really alive, the pitchers are throwing well and playing really good defense.
